Why Is My Honda Beeping When I Turn It Off?

Sometimes, when you turn off your Honda, it starts making beeping sounds. This sound is commonly caused by a feature in Honda cars known as the walk-away auto-lock feature. 

When you move away from your Honda with your smart entry remote with you, the doors should lock automatically. This feature automatically activates when all the doors are closed.

This feature is standard on almost all 2016, and above Honda models, Ex trim levels and above.

Why is My Honda Beeping When I Open the Door?

When your car beeps whenever you open the door, it’s probably because you opened it before turning the car off.

This feature is most common in vehicles that operate with keyless ignition. However, even some cars with key ignition have this problem.

• Turn the key in the ignition to “run” and then back to the “off” position. Do this quickly and keep it running around five times.
