Can You Run 285/75 R17 On A Ram 1500?

You can run 285/75 on a Ram 1500 without additional modifications on your truck. In addition to that, you can run other bigger tires on the Ram 1500.

For example, you can comfortably change your current tires to size 35″ without extra modifications.

But, if you want to go further, you can go with the 37″ inches tires, but that will need some modifications.

That means you must do body mount trimming, fender-rolling, and wheel-well cutting.

That does not mean that you should scout the biggest tires you can find. You also need to be practical if you want different tires for your truck.

Moreover, remember that the upgrades must improve your truck’s performance, not reduce it.

So, if you want to change the tires on your truck to 285/75 R17, you can go ahead.

Often, fixing large tires on stock wheels and suspension is not the issue; the issues are the results.

You can uncomfortably fit a 37″ on-stock wheel and stock suspension. Such a large tire will not fit well on stock suspension.

• Rubbing on the sway bar

• Trimming inside the wheel-well liner.
